Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the WorldLens platform, website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”) operated by WorldLens LLC, a New York limited liability company (“WorldLens,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
Please read these Terms carefully. They include important provisions regarding dispute resolution by binding arbitration (Section 14) and a waiver of class actions. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy.
1Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Service, clicking “I agree,” creating an account, or joining the waitlist, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the Service.
If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms, in which case “you” refers to that entity.
2Description of the Service
WorldLens is an AI-powered news intelligence platform. The Service aggregates, clusters, summarizes, and analyzes news content from third-party publishers and generates structured intelligence briefs, summaries, perspective comparisons, and personalized feeds.
The Service may include free tiers, paid subscription tiers, and optional add-on features. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, with or without notice. Where we discontinue a material feature of a paid tier, we will make reasonable efforts to provide prior notice and, where appropriate, a pro-rated refund.
3Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age — or the minimum age required to provide consent under applicable law in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater — to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract and must not be barred from using the Service under the laws of the United States or any other applicable jurisdiction.
4Accounts & Security
4.1 Account Registration
To access certain features, you may need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at legal@worldlens.io of any unauthorized use or suspected security breach.
4.3 One Account per Person
You may not create more than one active account for yourself. You may not use another person’s account or allow another person to use your account without our express permission.
5Waitlist & Early Access
5.1 No Guarantee of Access
Joining the waitlist does not guarantee that you will be granted access to the Service, that you will be admitted within any particular timeframe, or that any specific features will be available. We may invite users in any order and may decline to invite any individual user in our sole discretion.
5.2 Early Access is Provided “As Is”
Any early-access, beta, alpha, preview, or similar offering (collectively, “Early Access”) may contain bugs, errors, or incomplete features, and is provided for evaluation purposes only. We make no commitment that any Early Access feature will ever be released, will be released on any particular timeline, or will be offered to you on the same terms.
5.3 Founder Pricing
The first 500 users who join the waitlist and subsequently subscribe to a paid tier may be eligible to “lock in” founder pricing of $17.99 per month (the “Founder Price”), subject to the conditions described at the time of sign-up and in Section 6. We reserve the right to change the criteria for, cap on, or amount of the Founder Price — or to discontinue it entirely — before an eligible user activates a paid subscription. The Founder Price, once activated on a qualifying account, will remain in effect for so long as the subscription is continuously maintained, subject to Section 6.
6Subscriptions & Founder Pricing
6.1 Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (for example, monthly or annually) at the rate in effect when you subscribe, plus any applicable taxes. By providing payment information, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge the applicable fees to your selected payment method.
6.2 Automatic Renewal
Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price for that tier, unless you cancel before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time from your account settings or by emailing legal@worldlens.io. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
6.3 Price Changes
We may change the price of the Service. For users paying standard (non-founder) prices, changes will take effect at the start of the next billing cycle following reasonable advance notice (typically no less than 30 days). For users on Founder Pricing, the Founder Price will remain in effect as described in Section 5.3, provided the subscription is continuously maintained. If you allow your subscription to lapse, resuming the Service may be available only at then-current standard pricing.
6.4 Refunds
Except where required by applicable law, fees are non-refundable. We may issue refunds or credits at our discretion — for example, for extended service outages or billing errors.
6.5 Taxes
Subscription fees do not include taxes unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for all applicable sales, use, value-added, goods and services, withholding, and similar taxes associated with your subscription.
7Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Service. Without limiting the foregoing, you agree that you will not, and will not enable or permit any third party to:
- Scrape, crawl, spider, data-mine, or otherwise harvest content or data from the Service, except as expressly permitted by a written agreement or by our public API under its own terms;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to discover the source code, underlying ideas, or algorithms of the Service, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- Copy, republish, sell, sublicense, lease, rent, or otherwise commercially exploit the Service, its interface, or any AI-generated output, except as expressly permitted;
- Use the Service to develop, train, or benchmark a competing product or model, or to provide a similar service to any third party;
- Use automated means (including bots, crawlers, or scripts) to access, interact with, or submit content to the Service without our prior written consent;
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features of the Service, or with features that enforce use limitations or preserve intellectual property;
- Transmit any virus, worm, trojan horse, or other malicious code;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users’ accounts, or related systems or networks;
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
- Use the Service in connection with any unlawful activity, to harass or harm others, to infringe any rights, or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
We may investigate and take appropriate action, including suspending or terminating access, against anyone who, in our sole judgment, violates this Section.
8Intellectual Property
8.1 Our Property
The Service — including its software, design, user interface, graphics, text, editorial framing, intelligence-brief structure, data models, trademarks, service marks, and logos — is owned by or licensed to WorldLens LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, trade-secret, and other intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms and your compliance with them, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.
8.2 AI-Generated Output
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and applicable law, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to read, share, and personally use AI-generated output produced through the Service (for example, briefs and summaries). You may not redistribute AI-generated output at scale, use it to train a competing model, or present it as your own original journalism. Nothing in this Section grants you rights to the underlying news content, which remains the property of its respective publisher.
8.3 Trademarks
“WorldLens,” the WorldLens logo, and related marks are trademarks of WorldLens LLC. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission. All other trademarks referenced on the Service are the property of their respective owners.
9User Content & Feedback
9.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service (for example, notes, saved stories, or preferences). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, store, reproduce, and display your content solely to operate and improve the Service and as described in our Privacy Policy.
9.2 Feedback
If you submit suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use and incorporate your feedback for any purpose, without obligation or compensation to you.
9.3 DMCA & Copyright Claims
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to legal@worldlens.io that complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) requirements, including: (a) identification of the copyrighted work; (b) identification of the allegedly infringing material and its location; (c) your contact information; (d) a statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized; (e) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act; and (f) a physical or electronic signature.
10AI-Generated Content & Disclaimer
Intelligence briefs, summaries, and analyses produced through the Service are generated by artificial-intelligence systems and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. They are provided for informational purposes only.
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Not professional advice. AI-generated output does not constitute legal, financial, investment, medical, or other professional advice. Do not rely on it as a substitute for professional consultation.
- Not a substitute for primary sources. For decisions of material importance, verify information directly with original sources.
- Accuracy is not guaranteed. AI models can produce plausible-sounding content that is inaccurate, outdated, or misleading. We continuously work to reduce these errors but cannot eliminate them.
- No guarantee of neutrality. While we strive to present multiple perspectives and minimize bias, we cannot guarantee that any output will be comprehensive, balanced, or free from the biases present in underlying source material or training data.
- You bear responsibility for use. You are solely responsible for any actions you take based on AI-generated output.
11Third-Party Content
The Service may contain, link to, or incorporate content from third-party news publishers, data providers, or other sources. Such content remains the property of the respective publisher and is subject to the publisher’s own terms and copyright. We do not endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for third-party content or services, and your access to or use of any linked third-party resource is at your own risk.
12Disclaimer of Warranties
13Limitation of Liability
THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF THE WORLDLENS PARTIES TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, the above limitations apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
14Dispute Resolution & Arbitration
14.1 Informal Resolution
Before filing a claim, you and WorldLens each agree to try to resolve the dispute informally. You agree to notify us of the dispute in writing at legal@worldlens.io, including a description of the claim and the specific relief sought. If we cannot resolve the dispute within 60 days, either party may commence arbitration as described below.
14.2 Binding Arbitration
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service (each, a “Dispute”) that is not resolved informally shall be finally resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules (or its Commercial Arbitration Rules, if applicable). The arbitration will be conducted in the English language in New York County, New York, or another location agreed by the parties, and may be conducted by videoconference.
14.3 Class-Action Waiver
14.4 Exceptions
Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may (a) bring an individual action in small-claims court where it has jurisdiction; (b) seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for infringement or misappropriation of intellectual property rights; and (c) file suit in court to enforce an arbitration award.
14.5 Opt-Out
You may opt out of the arbitration agreement in Section 14.2 by sending written notice to legal@worldlens.io within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Your notice must include your name, the email associated with your account, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration. Opting out will not affect any other provision of these Terms.
14.6 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. For claims not subject to arbitration, the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York.
15Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the WorldLens Parties from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of or access to the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of a third party, including intellectual property or privacy rights; or (d) any content you submit to the Service. We reserve the right, at our own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which event you agree to cooperate with our defense.
16Termination
16.1 Termination by You
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by following the instructions in the Service or by emailing legal@worldlens.io. Deletion takes effect subject to any processing time reasonably required and any data we are required or permitted to retain under applicable law.
16.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that: (a) you have violated these Terms; (b) your use of the Service poses a security risk or could harm the Service, us, or other users; (c) doing so is required by law or legal process; or (d) we are discontinuing the Service or a feature you are using. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide prior notice.
16.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to access and use the Service will cease immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 8 (Intellectual Property), 10 (AI Disclaimer), 12 (Warranties), 13 (Liability), 14 (Disputes), 15 (Indemnification), 18 (Miscellaneous), and any obligation for fees accrued before termination — will survive.
17Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice — for example, by posting the revised Terms on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date, and, where appropriate, by emailing the address associated with your account or displaying an in-product notice. Changes take effect on the effective date stated in the notice.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service before they take effect.
18Miscellaneous
18.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms you accept when using specific features, constitute the entire agreement between you and WorldLens and supersede any prior agreements on the subject matter.
18.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or, if it cannot be so modified, severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
18.3 No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorized representative of WorldLens.
18.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights under them without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, or sale of assets.
18.5 Notices
We may provide notices to you by email, through the Service, or by posting to our website. You may provide notices to us by email to legal@worldlens.io.
18.6 No Agency
Nothing in these Terms creates any agency, partnership, joint venture, employment, or franchise relationship between you and WorldLens.
18.7 Force Majeure
We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, epidemics, government action, failures of infrastructure or telecommunications, or third-party service outages.
18.8 Export Controls
You agree to comply with all applicable U.S. and international export-control and sanctions laws and regulations in your use of the Service.
18.9 U.S. Government Users
The Service is a “commercial item” as defined in 48 C.F.R. §2.101. U.S. Government users acquire only those rights expressly granted by these Terms.
